This kit replaces the original SRAM i3 internally geared hub on the U500. The original part is no longer available, so if it fails, a replacement must be found.
The kit would also be applicable if you want to upgrade your U350 from single speed.
With the 8 speed IGH you will have more gear range, so you can keep a reasonable cadence at higher speeds, and climb steep hills more easily, plus find just the right cadence at all the in between speeds.

Complete rear wheel with Shimano Alfine SG-S7001-8 transmission, Alex 20" X 32mm double wall rim, and 14 gauge Sapim butted spokes with rim tape
Shimano Deore 9 speed shifter with cable.
Shimano center lock 180mm brake disc.
Shimano 18 tooth rear cog.
All the hard to find small parts needed to install the hub and shifter.
