To keep U500V3s on the road, we are offering a replacement battery pack that will slide into the original case. It has all of the correct connectors, so replacement is plug and play. As always with large lithium batteries, extreme care must be taken in ensuring that the battery is installed correctly, if in doubt, contact your local e-bike or battery shop for installation.
The battery cells are Samsung 18650, these are 10A rated in a 13S11P configuration, 35.2 amp hours, 1689 watt hours! These cells will have an easy life in this bike. We even include a new USB board to keep the USB charging functionality.
Early versions of the U500 may have different connections, so they will not be pin for pin replacements. The battery will still fit, and can be made to work, but you will have to replace connectors, so you should be expert with wiring to attempt this. If your battery has one power wire for positive and one for negative from the panel connector inside the case to the battery pack, then it is an early one. The later V3 batteries have double power wires.
The first version of the U500 battery case is smaller, and this pack will not fit. Your battery case should be 22 1/16” long 5.327” wide 3.09” high outside for this pack to fit. The first cases also had the charge port on the back of the case instead of the front.
